Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Who do you accept?
Answer: American citizens interested in peaceful communities who are willing to be ready to uphold Federal and Commonwealth Constitutions and rule of law. They are willing to defend against insurrection or invasion. This rules out supremacists of any type, fascists, and communists/socialists. Those would have to violate their beliefs to support the legal roles of militia.
Question: Isn't militia outdated?
Answer: Not at all. Anytime citizens band together to preserve property and life with arms is the militia in action. The Koreans made famous when they were armed to protect their stores during the LA Riots in 1992 is an example of militia. Similar actions were seen during the 2020 riots after the killing of George Floyd.
Militia use to repel invasion or insurrection is not out of the question. Ukraine mobilized their militia in response to the threat of Russia in 2022 and still employs them. Modern warfare utilizes forward units in covert roles. The result is a blending of insurrection and invasion. Current geopolitical challenges with various countries could result in the use of this tactic to bring the war to American soil. Organized crime also uses a similar tactic, and it is well documented that cartels have influence throughout the United States and could provide similar local challenges.
Question: Militia is always anti-government.
Answer: This is certainly not true. Various groups, often with media laziness, have called themselves militia to cover over their criminal enterprises. Those who band together for profit and/or power at the expense of just application of law are only criminals. Militia has another word associated with it - "posse", which simply means "people". You might remember it from Westerns, but the concept is the same - armed people enforcing the law when needed. Militia are fulfilling their role when they support proper government.
Question: Militia is an embarrassment and can impact employment.
Answer: Militia is, by definition, the populace able to bear arms. Technically, everyone who carries a firearm or owns one is a member of the militia. Militia that are training in line with the established legal boundaries is not an embarrassment and should not impact employment. Due to the stigma of the word "militia", this is not a trivial concern. Contact us to work through your particular situation.
